The doctors at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine use every innovation and everything at their disposal to make the wisest moves for their patients. For Dr. Michael Rauh, that doesn’t rule out using a 3D printing model created by a local shop using “additive manufacturing.”
The Hamburg-based machine shop loaded a medical CT scan into its 3D printer and out came a dimensional model of the patient’s bone structure. Dr. Rauh can utilize this model to determine the best way to operate on the patient’s previously reconstructed knee should further surgery be required.
