Michael A. Rauh, MD
Specialty: Sports Medicine, Knee & Shoulder Arthroscopy
I care for patients with various orthopaedic conditions by maximizing the nonsurgical options available for treatment. In cases where nonsurgical options will not help return my patients to full function, I perform surgery. I focus my surgical practice on outpatient arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder and knee, including but not limited to arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, labral reconstructions following shoulder dislocations, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions and knee cartilage procedures involving the meniscus. I help my patients make informed decisions about their health. I also help them understand the expectations for recovery that come with each treatment option—as well as what will be required of them to recover function. I am dedicated to improving the lives of my patients through compassionate, high quality medical care.

"This is my first experience as a patient with this practice and I'm nothing short of amazed. The receptionist (forget her name but an adorable pregnant girl) was so pleasant and while I was in the waiting room, she handled a rather difficult patient with such grace and professionalism. The X-Ray techs were both very nice and quick! Then I went to the next waiting room where the lady at the desk was again very nice. I filled out some surveys on the iPad and was taken to a room where I met Drew. He was amazing. Thorough and intelligent. On discharge, the desk was quick at getting appointments and worked with my personal busy schedule very nicely. I am a physician assistant at an urgent care and I am truly impressed at the efficiency and the professionalism of everyone I came in contact with. Great job!"
"Check-in & check-out person was very helpful. Talia was very professional & very thorough. She made it a good experience."
"Was there to have my knee checked. Staff was very polite and friendly, saw Andrew Peterson (Dr. Rauh's PA), he was professional and friendly, he explained all my problems and options so I could understand. I would highly recommend UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine to anybody."
Dr. Rauh – Now that it appears our son will no longer need to be a patient (at least we hope he does not), my wife and I would like to thank you for all that you have done for him. We realized very quickly how lucky he was to have you on the field when he was hurt in 2010. Your professionalism and thoroughness helped put us at ease right away. Taking care of an injury such as what he had is what you do on a regular basis. For us, it was very new and something we had minimal experience with. We appreciated you taking the time to explain step by step what needed to be done. Throughout both of our son’s injuries we knew we could trust your judgment. This allowed him to focus on his recovery and rehab. Again, thank you for putting him back together and giving him a chance to have a season he will remember the rest of his life.
Dear Dr. Rauh – for the past 2 months, I have been a patient at UB Orthopaedics, Orchard Park. My therapist, Laura Santillo, PT, and her assistant, Vinnie, have guided me through the rigors and routines, daily, to get me ambulating and increasing my level of durability. Their continued support has allowed me to regain all of my balance and I am able to perform all of my daily activities. Their interpersonal skills have made this experience so rewarding. Thank you and UB Orthopaedics for your continued interest in and support for my recovery.
